Benefits of becoming a Southeast Paddle Sports Member:
The SEP Paddle Sports Training Program offers a comprehensive approach for paddlers looking to excel in races of 5km, 10km, or longer. The program supports various paddling styles and provides access to the Southeast Paddle Sports Race Series, with events held across Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. SEP members also enjoy monthly workshops—1-2 hour group training practices—in locations like Gainesville, Blue Ridge, Stone Mountain, and Acworth, GA, as well as Knoxville and Chattanooga, TN. Program participants receive weekly training schedules tailored to improve paddling skills, plus discounts on training camps and events, free workshops, and video review sessions to refine their technique.
Training Camps and Ocean Paddling Programs
SEP's training camps are an exceptional opportunity for athletes to deepen their paddling knowledge. With both on-water and off-water activities, these camps offer focused training and skill-building, ideal for paddlers at all levels. Clinics are also available and can be arranged for groups of five or more, providing personalized guidance and intensive practice sessions in a collaborative setting.
For those seeking ocean paddling experience, SEP offers two immersive ocean paddling programs. The Ocean Training Camp will teach participants how to navigate waves and build confidence in challenging ocean conditions with hands-on demonstrations. For an unforgettable experience, the Hawaii Ocean Training Camp in Maunalua Bay offers a week of instruction in managing larger ocean swells. Participants will paddle in one of the world’s most scenic locations while learning advanced techniques for wave navigation. Both camps require paddlers to bring essential safety gear, and prior ocean camp participation is required for the Hawaii camp to ensure readiness for bigger waters.
